Mittens and ruff knitting pattern

The pattern from the very popular sweaters Rúrý, Rúrik and Rúrika is used here for mittens and a cowl. The cowl is an easy knit and is perfect for beginners in stranded knitting. After finishing the cowl the mittens are a perfect project. SIZES Mittens S/M / L Mittens circumference: 8.25 in (21 cm) 9 in (22.5 cm) Mitten length fron end of cuff: 7.75 in (19.5 cm) 8.5 in (22.5 cm) Cowl ONE SIZE Circumference: 25 in (64 cm) YARN Saga Wool from Icewear Garn, 50 g (100 m/ 109 yd) Color 1: 9001-0001 Quantity: 150 g Color 2: 9001-9059 Quantity: 100 g NEEDLES US 6 and US 7 (4 mm and 4.5 mm), 40/60 cm circular needle. US 6 and US 7 (4 and 4.5 mm) double pointed needles. GAUGE 10X10 cm = 20 sts og 20 rounds in stockinette stitch on US 7 (4.5 mm). It is important to have the right gauge to determine the given size. Adjust needle size to match gauge. METHODS The mittens: The mittens are knitted in the round, using 5 DPN´s. Begin knitting a ribbing; k 1 st, p 1 st repeat. The body is knitted with two colored stranded knitting Cowl: The cowl is knitted in the round, using 40 or 60 cm circular needle.
